One address reaches this newsroom: support@thelittlebinger.com. It is read and triaged by our editors rather than by a ticketing robot, and it is the only channel we use.

We have not built a wall of department aliases, because a small team with six inboxes is a small team losing messages. Sorting is done by hand, so put the reason you are writing in the subject line. The headings below are the categories we actually sort into.

Corrections and factual complaints

If a fact in one of our articles is wrong, tell us which article, which sentence, and what the right version is if you know it. A link to something we can check is worth more to us than an argument about tone.

These go straight to the managing editor and skip the rest of the queue. We reply even when the answer is that we have rechecked and are standing by the line, and our corrections policy explains what then happens to the page itself.

Story tips, pitches and press releases

Tips are welcome and short is fine. What we need is what happened, roughly when, and how you know. Documents beat descriptions. If you are pitching as a freelance writer, send two paragraphs and one line on what you can actually prove, not a finished draft.

Press releases arrive at the same address and are read, though a release is a starting point and never a story on its own. If yours is embargoed, put the embargo time in the subject line, because we will not honour one we discovered in paragraph nine.

Sensitive or confidential contact

If you have something you cannot send from a work account, write from an address that is not connected to you and tell us only that you have material and roughly what it concerns. We will agree a safer route with you before you send anything sensitive. We do not name sources to anyone, including to the subject of the story.

Think about what your own device and network record before you write. We can protect what reaches us, and we cannot undo a message sent from a monitored laptop.

Advertising, privacy and legal

Commercial enquiries come to the same inbox and are passed to the business side rather than answered by editors. Our formats, rules and refusal categories are already public on the advertise page, so read that first and the reply you get will be more useful.

Requests about your own data, including access and deletion, use the same address and are handled as described in our privacy policy. Legal notices, including copyright complaints, also land here.

How long we take, and what we do not have

Corrections get an acknowledgement within one working day and usually a decision the same day. Tips and pitches get a week, and silence after that means no rather than a lost email. Commercial questions take a working week. Data requests are answered inside the window the law allows.

We have no phone line, no postal room and no public office, and we do not publish a street address, so post is not a way in. We also do not run verification through social profiles. If an account claiming to be us asks you for money or a password, it is not us, because we ask for neither. Who us means is set out on the about page.
