The world is now hit by the pandemic and it is not easy for everyone. Among the hardest hit is everybody’s budget. However, that does not mean that we have to cut ourselves from occasional treat or reward. In fact, we should love ourselves more. Well, at least, that’s what I told myself when I purchased a new device- Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0. Many are saying that tablets are now not as necessary as they were before with powerful phones hitting the market now. But I have some activities that are better done on tablets than on phone. So to be practical, I recently bought this budget tablet from Samsung! Its specs are perfect for the price and so far, I am satisfied. Here’s my review:

Tablet on A Budget
Priced at just P 7,990, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is a practical companion for my tasks. Personally, I intend to use this device mainly for reading and streaming. I recently rediscovered my love for ebooks and decided that it is not fun doing it on my 6-in phone screen. The colors of the tablet are pleasant to the eyes. It sports a 1280 x 800 resolution, making it a perfect companion for my YouTube videos and Netflix series. I immediately enjoyed streaming on this device because aside from the hefty screen, its dual speakers play sounds that can fill the room!
Since I had it last week, I only charged it twice and that’s after using it for 4-5 hours of reading. Its battery has the capacity of 5100 mAh! Before I got the tablet, I was torn between this and a tablet of another brand of the same price range. The factor that helped me make a decision was the design. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is available in two colors- black and silver. The black one, which I picked, looks elegant despite its budget price! The texture of the material doesn’t feel cheap to touch. I also particularly love the weight of it- 347 grams. Bringing it everywhere I go should be a breeze.
Of course it is not all positive. I do have one point for improvement on this tablet- the camera. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a dual camera- an 8.0 MP shooter at the back and a 2.0 MP shooter in front. Both cameras were subpar. Sure, it would not be fair to ask for decent cameras on a tablet but I wish they had done a better job on the front cam especially now in the time of conference calls.

(June 4, 2020 - 4:14 pm)I remember those days when they first release Samsung tablet way back in 2009 and the people just got went crazy with its features and then Apple, later on, came up with an ipad. For that price, I guess it’s a good deal because Samsung devices are quality and durable.
