How is the pandemic treating you, Bingers? Are you still doing good? Still sane? I really do hope that you are still doing fine because I am, despite the INTENSE boredom and lockdown fever that hit me few weeks after the lockdown has started. In addressing it, I have done several activities to curb my attention: cooking, vlogging, gardening, and working out. And yes, let’s talk about the latter- working out. For regular gym-goers like I am, hitting the gym was a regular activity when our lives were still in normal, pre-COVID. But by the second week of March 2020, when the government-imposed lockdown happened nationwide, our gym-going routine was put on a halt. Our gains were lost, and weights increased. Well, for some because lucky me, I learned to love home workouts and I invested on my home gym setup. Recently, however, the government has announced that they will be lifting restrictions and gyms will be reopened soon. So, I asked myself, “should I return to the gym during the pandemic?”
So, we are five months in into this government-imposed lockdown and do you know what I miss the most, Bingers? Travelling. Or just being outside, to be honest. I miss the outside world and I miss seeing new sights. If not going out of town, maybe just by staycationing at a hotel with my friends. But you know what, we might be able to do it again soon because Lysol is partnering with Discovery hotels to promote safe spaces. We got the details!
Do you miss your favorite snacks, Bingers? I do too! The only time I refill on my C2, Nova, and Cloud 9 are whenever we go out for our bi-weekly grocery run. But you know what, Universal Robina Corporation makes it easier for us to enjoy our faves despite being locked at home! In spite of the limitations of the times, Universal Robina Corporation (URC) continues to reach out to communities in different and safest ways possible.
So, Bingers, I am sure that I am not the only one who has been so hooked in gardening. Since the lockdown started sometime in March due to COVID pandemic, people were filled with lots of emotions. Among those emotions were fear, anxiety, depression, denial, and of course, boredom. We had to move away from our regular lives. The normal is now a thing of the past as we move to and try to embrace the so-called New Normal. We tried different activities to cope with the situation- that despite continuing to function as many of us continued working while in Work From Home setup. Others tried baking, workout, and for many of us- gardening. Thus we saw the surprisingly quick increase of plantitos and plantitas on Facebook. Bingers, I too, become a plantito! Let me share with you my experience:

LOOK: “At Home with PLDT: No Learner Left Behind” Fundraising Concert Raised P 1 Million for Students and Teachers
Bingers, did you also enjoy the virtual concert the earlier this week? If you watched it with us at home, you’ll be glad to know that PLDT Home’s live fundraising concert titled “At Home with PLDT: No Learner Left Behind” successfully raised over Php 1 Million worth of funds to help address the challenges of many students, teachers, and schools nationwide as they adapt to the new normal in education and online distance learning. Isn’t that great now that schools are turning into online learning this year? Read more about this great achievement!
So, Bingers. Are you bored as I am? Then we know the solution to that. Pick up our phones. Nowadays, we spend most of our time online, some have become dependent on electronic devices, especially smartphones, to keep them connected with friends and loved ones, and to conveniently pursue and enjoy their lifestyles. And with different activities—messaging on various platforms, posting on social media, surfing the internet, buying from online stores, listening to music, watching movies and videos, and playing online games—keeping people busy on their smartphones wherever they may be, it would truly be disappointing to get a low battery warning, or the handset going “dead”. That is such a hassle, right?
Do you still remember how you were before this whole COVID pandemic happened? It has only been over 100 days since Metro Manila (and eventually the whole country) was put on lockdown but to me it already feels like a whole damn year! As someone who lives a fast-paced and multi-faceted life, the abrupt pause on my life is so impactful! This, I am sure, is not an “only me” thing. My friends complained the same thing over our Zoom e-numans and we agreed on one thing: It’s okay not to be okay. Bingers, let’s sit down for a few minutes, look back at how the pandemic has affected us, and accept the present and what the future holds for us. Read more about It’s Okay Not To Be Okay. And Other Pandemic Moods. …
