Yesterday, Marvel Studios dropped the teaser for the upcoming movie, Eternals. It is part of the exciting and fresh late of movie for the cinematic universe’s Phase Four. It is alongside Shang-Chi, Black Widow, and Doctor Doom: Multiverse of Madness. With these fresh titles from the comic giant’s diverse library, you probably are like me who are not that well-versed about them. Well, don’t worry because we got the basics about the Eternals.
Eternals is an upcoming movie directed and written by Chloe Zhao. It is based off of Jack Kirby’s original characters in the Marvel Comics. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the immortal alien race created by the Celestials will reunite to protect Earth and its inhabitants from the Deviants.
Yes, it means, that they have been here all along and that raises the question of where were they during the Snap? But that is for another day. For now, let’s get to know the members and the cast of Eternals:
- Thena (Angelina Jolie)
She is a fierce warrior who does best in battles than in any other place. She can make any weapon she can think of out of her cosmic energy! - Makkari (Lauren Ridloff)
She is the first deaf superhero in the MCU and this does her best as her super-speed power to scout planets won’t get her impaired by the boom! - Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani)
He has the power to project cosmic energy projectiles with his hands. And throughout the years, he has been fascinated by fame.
- Gilgamesh (Don Lee)
He is the strongest yet kindest Eternal. He can project an exoskeleton out of cosmic energy which makes him great in battles! - Ajak (Salma Hayek)
She is the wise and spiritual leader of the Eternals who has helped humans throughout the years with her healing ability. - Sprite (Lia McHugh)
While she has always been treated like a child by humanity, she is actually stronger and more clever as she looks. Also, she can cast lifelike illusions! - Sersi (Gemma Chan)
She has the most affinity with humanity of all Eternals. She can manipulate matter and change the the make-up of any non-sentient materials she can get her hands on.
- Ikaris (Richard Madden)
He is the leader of the Eternals and is the love interest of Sersi. He can project beams out of his eyes and is also the leader of the team. - Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry)
He has helped the humans advanced technologically with his power of invention. Give him materials and he can create something out of them. - Druig (Barry Keoghan)
He can use cosmic energy to control human. He is detached from the rest of the Eternals because of his disagreement with how they deal with humans.
