Dieting Made Easy with Salad Bar

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Earlier this year, I started a new diet. I tried to commit to Keto Diet- an all fat, all protein, no carb, and no sugar diet. For a while, it worked. I sustained it. That was until I moved back home and lost time and energy to prepare my food. I still stuck on a diet- Intermittent Fasting. But come on, let’s just admit it, it’s hard to stick on a particular diet when your most accessible food options are fastfood and carinderia (which I love, thank god for Jollijeeps in Makati!) Recently, I discovered a place that will help me achieve my fitness goals again. Bingers, meet Salad Bar!

Healthy in the City

Earlier this week, on my quest for a ‘healthy meal’, I roamed around Glorietta. Typically, I would go for my go-to Japanese restaurant at the mall and get a bento meal. Luckily, Salad Bar saved my diet. I consider myself a heavy veggie-eater. In fact, I see to it that I will have a serving or two of veggies and fruits each day. Salad Bar has an interesting set-up that DIY fans will love!

Living and eating healthy does not have to come at a cost and leave a hole in your pockets! For just P30/ 100grams, each customer will have the freedom to pick the vegetable, fruit, and meat of their choice to fill their container with. Given that it was my first time, the wide selection of fresh items overwhelmed me that I found myself carrying a 300g full of fresh food! There are lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and mushrooms- the salad staples. But if you wanna be playful with your food like I did, there are also macaroni salad, whole boiled eggs, bellpeppers, and kernels of corn. What is a good salad without a good dressing? We can choose from a variety of dressing and vinaigrette to make our meal exciting!
