Samgyupsal places are everywhere! They just started popping out in every corner of the metro and Filipinos loved each one of them! I mean, who would not fall in love with Samgyupsal places? For as low as P300, one can have unlimited meat, veggies, and sides and eat their heart out! I do have my go-to samgyupsal places as well. Recently though, I have been invited to experience the latest branch in San Juan of Premier The Samgyupsal. Before you head out for dinner, make sure to read through our dining experience there!
Feast on a Budget
I got a confession to make: if I were to be asked to pick between samgyupsal and buffet, I would pick buffet in a heartbeat because I LOVE salmon and tuna sashimi. But that is not saying that I do not love pork, beef, and chicken. In fact, I can binge on them because they are protein and grilled meat is good! When I arrived at Premier, I was asked which type of meat would I want to be served first and I was given options. Lots of options because their Unli Mix (P600/ head) item gives each customer up to 8 types of meat!
I particularly loved Beef Bulgogi and Aged Samgyupsal! Have I mentioned? Each order comes with unlimited 15 sides and unlimited rice! That sure is a feast on a budget. If you are fickle-minded or simply not a fan of beef, you can also opt for Unli Pork and Chicken (P530/ head). This one comes with four types of pork and chicken, unli sides and rice as well!
Now that I have picked my meat, it’s time to grill! I liked that Premier The Samgyupsal has smokeless charcoal grills and plus points that I did not leave the restaurant smelling like barbecue. The flavorful meat went perfectly well with the sides. Speaking of sides, I particularly loved the kimchi, pickled radish, and sweet pork bits. No samgyup session is complete without soju. Luckily, the restaurant has it too! I had a bottle of peach soju and it capped off my sumptuous feast!
Premier the Samgyupsal San Juan is a step-up as compared to my previous Korean barbecue places simply because of the variety of their meat offerings. The place is spacious and well-lit, a consideration that I look out for whenever I dine in. I appreciate the smokeless grill except for the part that the one assigned to us gets intensely flamed up. As a content creator myself, I have to give them additional points for having power outlets!
